Our inspiration in the field of reporting

Reporting.cz recently celebrated its 10th birthday. Over that time, we have come a long way together with it. Unlike a marathon, the hardest part was the start. Making a name for ourselves in corporate reporting without a strategic investor or references, as an unknown Czech startup with its own cloud technology offered exclusively as a service? That would be a serious challenge even today. Back then, the terms cloud and BI were certainly not synonymous with trust.

We are at a turning point. Five or seven years ago, it made no sense to share insights and practical experience. Although we were already well ahead of our time in terms of technology and our approach to customers, we had neither the room nor the resources for systematic external communication. We put all our energy into delivering projects. Now we can finally afford to communicate. We have both the space and inspiring content, backed by the interest of thousands of satisfied users.

In the beginning, our vision was to bring reporting and a data warehouse to every company interested in them. We were greatly inspired by the story of the founders of Adastra and Ataccama, which we followed live from the very beginning. We started in the SME segment, where we have long been running hundreds of successful projects as DWHaaS. In recent years, we have gradually worked our way up to delivering and operating complex DWH and reporting solutions for large international groups. At the start, Fortuna gave us a chance. We appreciate the courage of Mirka Púcha, who, as Head of Group Reporting and Consolidation, bet on us in 2015, even though she could have safely opted for traditional solutions from global players. Then came CTP, Colt CZ, Penta, Wabtec, Mountfield, FutureLife and many more. This year, the J&T Banka group will join our more than six hundred customers.

We decided to share our experience, approach and ideas from the world of reporting and data processing. You will find plenty of interest if you care about IT architecture and private or hybrid cloud infrastructure management, related security challenges or the endless possibilities of reporting. We want to bring these topics to you through the experience of our interesting customers and examples of successful projects. I believe they will inspire you.

To start, we chose a financial consolidation project for the group of a leading residential developer. “We have a lot of data, and with the rise of non-financial reporting, there will be more and more of it. We just don't quite know how to use it properly yet. We aim to gradually integrate data from a wide range of sources into a single reporting platform that will support us in this effort,” says Jakub Korf, group CFO and member of the board of the Trigema group, describing how they want to use data.
